GSI has completed a project with the US Department of State to design solar PV systems with battery storage for four US embassies in the Pacific at Koror, Palau; Apia, Samoa; Majuro, Marshall Islands and Kolonia, Micronesia. The Koror, Palau embassy is the first US embassy to be 100% electrical energy independent powered by solar PV. Note that the article mentions the next three net zero embassies also designed by GSI.
GSI has provided on-site assistance to the University of Maryland “Engineers Without Borders” group with two installations in Ghana.
In July 2013, GSI won a contract to perform site assessments, feasibility studies, and off-grid PV system designs for twenty rural health clinics in Tanzania. The final report and designs were delivered in December 2013 to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine.
